For Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Song Writing

and advanced music theory for all other

instruments (Horns, Winds and Strings)

The Dave Curtis Teaching philosophy. It

seems to me many music teachers start

by“Killing all the Passion for music that

the student has“. They want the student

to play â€œtheir music their way“. My

teaching philosophy is the exact opposite.

I want you to play your music your way.

Music is a wonderful exciting journey that should be fun and rewarding, regardless of what style of music you like.

Instead of just teaching my students a never-ending string of songs that are soon forgotten, I focus mainly on music theory; how chords and scales work together. That wayyou can play with others, teach yourself songs, transpose songs, write, and arrange your own songs.

I teach Tuesday thru Saturday at my studio in North Hills, California. I typically teach students for one hour per week, however 1/2 hour lessons are available for young children (6-8yrs old) and special rates are available for career students who come more than once a week. I work very hard to make studying music the most fun you have all week, so my schedule is usually very full.

Please call me right away so I can try to squeeze you in.
